I recently had an interior French drain system installed in my basement, and I've noticed that there are some spots on the concrete layer covering the trench that feel moist or are sweating. The sump pump is functioning properly without any backups. Is this moisture something I should be concerned about? Could it be because the concrete layer is too thin?

I agree, that sounds concerning. Even if the concrete layer is thin, water should be directed away to the sump. Since you've got a plastic piece from the French drain, make sure it’s properly connected to the drains. Otherwise, it could lead to moisture problems.
Have you checked out some resources on moisture management in basements? I found a great article by a local architect that covers different aspects of managing water in this kind of setup. It includes helpful diagrams on trench drains too!
Moisture on the concrete isn't normal, especially if the water should be funneled to the sump pump. How is your drainage system set up? If there isn't something like a dimple board to channel water effectively, there might be an issue with the installation itself. It's worth investigating further.
