I'm considering a contractor to renovate my master bathroom and got an estimate between $13,000 and $15,000. The plan is to replace the current stand-up shower with a linen closet, remove the existing tub to install a walk-in shower, and wall up a window. I'm planning to handle most of the demolition myself (excluding the window removal) to save on costs. Here's a link to the layout for reference: https://imgur.com/a/E6PkI0o

Honestly, that estimate sounds pretty good for all the work you're getting. Bathroom remodels can get pricey, so if they're handling everything professionally, you might be getting a deal here.
Just a heads up, walling up the window could limit natural light, which is never ideal. It’s good to think about how you feel in the space, especially if you’re used to the light coming in. Instead of completely blocking it, maybe consider alternatives like smaller window blocks if you're worried about leaks?
In my opinion, removing a bathtub is a bit overboard unless you really won't use it. But hey, if you know you won't miss it and you have another bath, go for it. Just make sure the new walk-in shower suits your needs!

That’s exactly what I was thinking! You could alter the window without losing all the light. Just find a good compromise.
