Is My Bosch Router Bit Position Normal?

I'm using the Bosch RA1181 router table along with the 1617EVS router, and I'm concerned that the bits sit too low. Even when I adjust everything to the maximum using the router and router table lift, it still feels like the bits are lower than they should be. I've even tried not seating the bits as deeply, but I'm not sure if that's a good approach. Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this setup? I'm pretty new to this, so I'm looking for any advice, especially regarding the use of a collet extension.

I use the same Bosch RA1181 and 1617 setup and I haven't run into that issue. The only time I had a height problem was in a rare case with a box spline jig, but that was unusual. Maybe you're just getting used to how it works?

Thanks for the feedback! I guess my inexperience might be causing some of the confusion. I was thinking about trying a collet extender just in case.

From what you've described, it seems like you might not be using all the height adjustments available on your router. There are generally two ways to tweak the height: one is a lever or button for major adjustments, moving it in big increments, and the other is a dial for finer tuning. Make sure you're familiar with both!

Yeah, the router does have that lever for big changes, and I think I can make fine adjustments with the key on the tabletop instead of going under. Just want to make sure I'm using it right.
