I'm considering building a pool table, but I'm concerned that it's too complicated for my skill level. To simplify things, I thought about starting with a basic table structure the same size as a standard pool table, then using a jigsaw to cut out the holes. After that, I'd have a local woodworking shop create the rails for me, and once I have those, I'd just need to put some felt on everything and install it. Does this plan sound reasonable, or am I overlooking some important details?

There are tons of pool table builds available on YouTube, ranging from really fancy to super simple. I recommend checking them out for inspiration. For example, this build is entirely made from construction lumber that you can find at any hardware store: https://youtu.be/z0UzVSBqvro?si=pM4EIyRPYBWflttw.

Thanks! Definitely planning to watch this tonight and take some notes!
