I recently had my dryer vent relocated after discovering that the previous setup was causing serious mildew issues in my garage. The vent now leads to the nearest exterior wall, but it has three 90-degree bends in it. The total length from the dryer wall to the exterior is around 20 feet. I've heard that this configuration might not be safe. Can anyone give me advice on whether this setup is okay or what I should do?

Yikes, that sounds like a Red Flag! Proper venting is crucial for safety. The more bends you have, the harder it is for air to flow out, which can lead to lint buildup and even fires. It might be a good idea to consult a professional to evaluate your setup and see if there's a better way to vent your dryer without all those turns.
That setup sounds risky! The bends can restrict airflow significantly, making your dryer less efficient and potentially causing overheating. Ideally, you want as few bends as possible. Plus, according to code, those bends add up to the total vent length restriction, and you're getting close to the limit just with those 90s. I’d suggest looking into alternative routes, maybe even through the roof if possible.
