Is My Dryer Vent Installed Properly or a Potential Fire Hazard?

Hey everyone! I just installed a dryer vent for the first time, and I'm a bit worried. The exhaust only has about 2 feet to travel before it exits the house, but it's gotten a bit bunched up because I had to push the dryer against the wall. Both ends are taped and clamped securely. Do you think this bunching is a big problem? I've attached a link to a photo for reference: https://postimg.cc/7bPZmRk3. Thanks for your help!

Definitely! When your vent is bunched up like that, it can start to accumulate lint, which is a major fire hazard. The best way to go about this is to use a rigid vent pipe. Since your distance is only about 2 feet, I recommend grabbing a two-foot aluminum vent piece and installing that. If you're slightly off with the length, you can adjust it with some short extenders or an adjustable piece that can bend to fit the right angle. Trust me, this can prevent some serious risks with dryer fires!

Yeah, the bunching can absolutely lead to lint buildup. If it’s making installation tricky, just remember rigid is the way to go. You might want to look into specific kits designed for offset installations. I’d recommend finding a local hardware store or checking online for adjustable vents that can help with those tricky angles. Safety first!
