Hi everyone! I'm looking for some advice on a small electrical project I'm considering. I want to remove an existing plug located at ceiling level (let's call it plug A) and then pig tail two wires to connect to two new outlets: plug B, which will be a GFCI outlet beside my fancy toilet, and plug C, which will be a regular outlet in the hallway. I have some experience with basic electrical work, like swapping out plugs, but this is a bit more complex for me. I'm concerned about safety—am I risking anything dangerous here? Your plan sounds basically fine! Just keep an eye on the circuit load; make sure you know what's already on there and how much power your new toilet will need. If it’s something like a heated bidet, be careful! Some places now require bathrooms to have their own circuits, mostly to avoid overloading things like hair dryers. If your toilet isn't too high-draw, you should be good to go!
I’m still figuring out what toilet I want, but maybe it’s smarter to just daisy chain from the existing GFCI in the bathroom next to the toilet and relocate the non-GFCI to the hallway instead?
