I'm a bit concerned about the support setup for my granite countertop, especially at the bottom right corner. The brackets are spaced 15.5 inches apart, and I've got a 15-inch overhang to help support the 18-inch overhang for the granite. There's also a full 2x4 studded wall between the counter sections. After finishing the installation, I'm realizing that there might have been a few better solutions to ease my concerns a little more. Just to clarify, I don't intend to sit or stand on that corner at all.

Using steel plates is a solid option for countertop support. They really distribute the weight better than other materials. If you're worried, it's worth double-checking if what you’re using is strong enough to handle the load!
If those are 1x boards, I’d be cautious! They might not hold up against the weight of the granite if it’s pushed hard enough. Have you thought about swapping them for steel brackets? My fabricator had some effective methods for supporting heavy stone—once they even bonded 20mm slate underneath for extra support with a really veiny marble. Just a thought!
Yeah, I thought the same thing initially! Steel support is definitely the way to go.
I think the brackets are steel, actually. Just painted white! The ones I got are half-inch thick from Amazon. At first, I was worried you were talking about the cabinet edges!
