Is My Impact Drill Safe After Getting Detergent Inside?

Hey everyone! I accidentally spilled some OxiClean White Revive laundry detergent into the motor area of my 20v max impact drill. I've drained out most of it, and the drill still works fine and sounds okay. I'm wondering if it's safe to keep using it or if I should take it apart, clean, and grease it properly. For context, the spill happened because I left the impact on the couch next to a detergent bottle that had a leaky cap. If you need any more details, feel free to ask!

If your drill is still working fine, it should be okay! Tools get dirty and have to deal with all kinds of stuff. I've had mine covered in mud, grease, and even brake fluid before. Just use it if it’s functioning.

Okay, I thought so. I just wasn’t sure. Thanks! I’ve seen guys practically submerge them while fixing pipes, so I appreciate the reassurance!

If you feel like it, you could take it apart and clean it to be sure. It won't take long—maybe 5 to 10 minutes for peace of mind if nothing else. It's a quick check!

Okay, thank you, man!
