Is My Mac Tool Dealer Overcharging Me?

I'm looking at buying a new 3/4 impact wrench from a Mac dealer for $550, which includes the battery and charger. However, I found it much cheaper elsewhere. When I questioned the dealer about the high price, he claimed it's due to special serial numbers on the Mac sold tools that allow for a specific warranty. He said only Mac trucks have these serial numbers. Does this seem sketchy to anyone? I have a gut feeling he's not being truthful.

Lately, anytime I see prices this high, I can’t help but think the dealer is just looking to profit off eager buyers. Check around because electric power tools can usually be found much cheaper outside of the truck. You shouldn’t feel pressured to pay a premium for that warranty alone!

Agreed! Manufacturers often don’t have special serial numbers just for dealers. Plus, warranties are often standard no matter where you buy.
