Is My Polymeric Sand Still Good After a Week of Rain?

Asked By SunnyDayz111 On

I'm a week into having installed my patio with polymeric sand, but we had some heavy rain on the first couple of nights after installation. Now, I'm noticing that some of the sand feels crumbly. I'm wondering if it's too late for it to set properly or if I should replace it. I'm open to replacing it if needed, but I want to be sure I'm not making a hasty decision. Any advice would be appreciated!

It sounds like you may have picked up a lower-quality brand. I suggest going with brands like Gator or Power Flex XL; I’ve had great success with those. If the sand is already crumbly, it's probably too late for it to regain its strength. You might want to consider replacing it with a better product to avoid issues down the line.

Thanks for the advice! I actually got mine from Lowe's, so now I'm definitely reconsidering my options.
