I'm a beginner gardener and about a week ago, I bought a mint plant. I suspected it was root-bound when I got it, and I was right! I noticed that the roots had started growing up inside the pot because they hit the bottom long ago. I just transferred my mint plant into a raised garden bed, but I didn't fix the roots before doing so. Now, I'm worried if it will be okay. Should I try to dig it up and loosen the roots, or is it better to leave it alone for now? Also, will doing this too soon distress the plant?

Oh boy, mint has a reputation for being a bit of a monster in the garden! The roots may not have grown too quickly yet, and loosening them can help. Just be careful, because mint roots will take over as the season goes on. I've seen them spread WAY out of containers before! Luckily, if you’ve raised it up off the ground, it might stay manageable for you. Glad you’re prepping for the ants too!
Don't stress too much! Mint is incredibly resilient. Honestly, if you even look at a mint plant the right way, it’s probably going to take over. So, it should be just fine! But if you're really worried, you could try loosening the roots a bit. Just be gentle with it!
Mint is one tough plant! Actually, it's kind of known for thriving despite some neglect. If you're concerned about the roots being too compacted, you could definitely dig it up and loosen them gently. But honestly, it’s likely to grow like crazy in no time!

Haha, right? Mint can be a sneaky little thing! Just keep an eye on it and it'll likely do well in your planter box.
