Is My Shower Door Hinge Installation Safe or Just Bad?

I recently had a hinge installed for my shower door, and honestly, it looks pretty terrible. The tile is cracked, and the screws aren't seated properly. I'm really concerned about whether this installation is safe or not. Can anyone take a look at the attached photo and give me their thoughts?

Yikes, that’s a half-assed install for sure. You’ve got cracked tiles and loose screws, which isn’t safe at all. I'd absolutely push them to fix it because that's not the quality you should accept.

From what I see, that’s definitely not good work. The tiles are cracked and the screws are stripping. You should definitely have the contractor come back and redo it. Also, it’s worth checking if there’s a stud behind the tile to support that hinge properly.

Honestly, it looks like a botched job all around. The contractor really messed it up by breaking the tile and not securing the screws properly. I'd call them back to take care of it. It’s just not safe in the long run.

Yeah, I’d definitely agree with that! You shouldn't have to settle for shoddy work.
