Hey everyone! I've noticed that the surrounds on my siding are sticking out quite a bit, and there are also a few spots with holes or cuts that don't seem right. I'm not an expert, so I'm looking for some opinions on whether this installation is correct. I reached out to my contractor, but I haven't heard back yet. Here's a link to some pictures for reference: https://imgur.com/a/qbQGQ8c

Hey! It’s normal for mounting blocks to stick out a bit from the siding surface. Some types of vinyl siding even have adjustable pieces, so the installation might not be totally off. Just make sure there’s a 1/4" to 3/8" gap for expansion around the edges. If they’re protruding way more than that, then it might be worth a closer look.

Thanks for your insights! I'll definitely check the measurements, but they seem to be sticking out about an inch, which feels like a lot.
