Is My Solar Setup Suitable for My Small House?

I'm looking for some advice on my solar power system for my small house. I want to be able to switch between off-grid and on-grid depending on the season since I tend to use more electricity in the winter compared to summer. Here's what I'm working with:
- Sol-Ark 15k inverter
- Two Pyres LFP battery packs (51.2V, 100A, 12kW each)
- Twelve Trina 410W Vertex S Topcon bifacial solar panels.

Does anyone see any issues with this setup?

It seems like you might be cutting it a bit close with just two battery packs. Each pack has a max continuous discharge of 75A, which could be a challenge given the system load. My suggestion would be to either get more battery packs or maybe consider a different model that can handle higher loads more comfortably. Don't forget to ensure that your solar panels can keep up with the charging during those shorter winter days!

Thanks for your input! I was thinking about getting more solar panels for good measure. Should I focus on adding batteries instead?

I find the numbers a bit confusing—are you really accounting for the right amount of solar panels? With your 12kW system, you might want to double-check how many panels you actually need, especially in the winter months when daylight is shorter. Tools like PVWatts can help estimate how much energy you might generate throughout the year, which can guide you in adjusting either the number of panels or the battery capacity. Batteries are crucial, so if you’re seeing a pattern of needing more power in winter, do factor that in.

I’m not sure what's wrong with it either, honestly! It seems like a solid choice for a small house assuming your usage matches the setup. Just keep an eye on your winter energy needs, since it can be tough with shorter days and more cloudy weather. You might want to run some numbers based on your local sunlight conditions to be sure!
