I recently mounted my 42-inch TV, which weighs around thirty pounds, onto a stud using a mount that's rated for its size and weight. However, I'm feeling really anxious about the possibility of it falling off the wall. Can anyone provide some reassurance or explain why I should feel safe about this setup?

If it's mounted on the stud correctly, the mount or the TV would more likely fail before the stud itself breaks. So, you should be good to go!
As long as you've properly secured the screws into the stud and placed them right in the middle, you can rest easy! Your TV is mounted safely, and it should be just fine when you wake up in the morning. There's no need to worry too much about it falling off!.
Seriously, thirty pounds isn't much at all. You've got this! Your setup should handle it with no issues.
Thanks for the reassurance! Just wanted to make sure I did everything right.

Exactly! The studs are pretty robust, especially for that weight.
