Is Plaster Really Toxic? Here’s What You Need to Know!

I've been getting into some DIY projects that involve using plaster, and honestly, it's been messier than I expected! I've ended up with plaster all over me and might have inhaled some of the powder. I'm curious, how harmful is this stuff really? Is the risk similar to just playing around with clay? Oh, and I might have accidentally swallowed a tiny bit—should I be worried about that? Thanks!

Most health risks are low—you're fine this time! But for future projects with dry sanding, definitely wear that mask. Just so you know, it’s also wise to check the age of the plaster because older stuff might have asbestos. Yikes! But in your case, you should be alright.

Getting dust in your lungs is never ideal, but plaster itself isn’t going to hurt you, really. Just wearing a mask or a face shield next time can help avoid any issues!

Honestly, plaster isn't a big deal if you're not constantly around it. Sure, inhaling a lot of any dust isn't awesome, but for what you’ve dealt with, you’re probably all good, haha! Swallowing a little bit of it is nothing to worry about either.
