Is Rabbit Manure Safe and Effective for Fertilizing Seedlings and Indoor Plants?

I've heard that rabbit manure is a great fertilizer, but I'm curious if it's suitable for seedlings or just adult plants. Do I need to compost it before using it, or can I apply it directly? Also, is it safe for indoor or greenhouse plants that rely on grow lights? I have three pet rabbits that eat Oxbow hay and pellets, and I'm starting to grow greens for them too. Sorry for all the questions—I'm a long-time bunny mom and a newbie plant parent!

You don't need to wait or compost rabbit manure before using it; it's perfectly fine to mix it directly into the soil. Just keep in mind that I’m not super sure about using it in containers—experiment a bit to find the right amount that works for you!

Rabbit manure is a fantastic fertilizer and can be used fresh without burning your plants, unlike chicken manure. However, composting it does enhance its safety and effectiveness. If you're using it fresh, just be careful where you use it—covering it with mulch can help prevent any splashing on edible plants like lettuce or carrots.
