Is Removing a Bathtub Going to Decrease My Home’s Value?

I have a typical American bathroom setup with a sink, toilet, corner tub, and a shower stall. The corner tub hardly ever gets used—last time it was just for giving my dog a bath, which was years ago. I'm considering taking out the corner tub to make the shower bigger since the current size is about 42"x42". I'd love to have a more spacious shower, but I'm concerned that getting rid of a bathtub might hurt my home's value. What do you all think about removing one of the two bathtubs?

Go for it! If the tub hardly gets used and you’ll enjoy a bigger shower, that's a win for you. Plus, you still have another tub in the house, so I doubt it'll hurt your property's value too much!

When renovating, focus on your happiness! A change like this usually wouldn’t be a dealbreaker for most buyers down the line, especially since you already have another tub. Make the shower as nice as you'd like!

Honestly, removing a bathtub could potentially hurt your value, but I've seen people dislike corner tubs these days. Many actually consider them more of a liability than a bonus. It sounds like you’d be upgrading your bathroom in a way that could appeal to future buyers too!
