I'm contemplating ripping out my grass and replacing it with creeping thyme and summer snow sedum. My main goal is to have a low-maintenance yard rather than worrying about water conservation. I've read that sedum grows to about 2-6 inches tall and creeping thyme is around 2 inches. I'm curious if combining these two in place of grass is a bad idea. I know mini clover is trendy, but I'm aiming for a nice mix of flowers as ground cover. What do you think?

Keep in mind how the ground cover will handle foot traffic. Creeping thyme can withstand a bit of stepping, but sedum doesn't like being walked on much.
Honestly, replacing grass with anything else is a solid move! I say go for it! Just make sure to choose native, pollinator-friendly plants, as they tend to be low maintenance once they've settled in.
I hear you! I don't want to get too wild since part of my yard is owned by the city, but I'm definitely planning to incorporate some native plants when I update my flower beds.
Do you think it's okay if my dog runs across it occasionally? We live on a street where folks walk their dogs constantly.
