Is Roundup Safe to Use Around Kids? Need Advice on Reentry Times

I'm working for a public school district and I'm trying to plan my spraying regimen for Roundup QuickPro. The booklet says it's safe to be near once it dries, but I've heard varying reentry intervals. Some sites mention a 4-6 hour wait, which feels a bit excessive. Since I'll be spraying around kids, especially near playgrounds, I want to make sure I'm being cautious and make informed decisions. The previous grounds crew sprayed early in the morning before school started, but I'm hesitant since I've been told conflicting information by my supervisor. Any suggestions on how to approach this situation more safely?

Honestly, I'd advise against using Roundup around kids at all. The IARC classified glyphosate, its main ingredient, as probably carcinogenic based on various studies. There’s a strong link to non-Hodgkin lymphoma, with some studies showing a significant increase in risk. It's just not worth the gamble when you're dealing with children's health. Better to find an alternative if you can.

I get your point, but some schools have been using it for years without complaints. However, I'd really make sure to back up your concerns with solid info. If you can present evidence to your supervisors, they might be open to alternatives.
