I put down rubber mulch in my garden today because my neighbors suggested it, but now I'm reading that it might be harmful. I'm worried it could damage my tree and calla lilies. Did I make a mistake? What should I do?

I doubt it will kill your plants, but rubber mulch isn’t great for gardens. It’s pretty much trash for that use. If you can, consider replacing it with real mulch. And be careful with how you pile it up—mulch volcanoes can harm your tree!
Honestly, I don't know why anyone would recommend rubber mulch for gardens. It doesn't decompose, and there's a risk that it could leach harmful chemicals into the soil. I personally wouldn't recommend using it.
You’re right, I’m definitely regretting it now! I just spent a good hour ripping it all out in the dark!

Thanks for the advice! Just spent the night getting rid of the rubber mulch, better late than never!
