I've been working on transforming my yard into a beautiful garden filled with perennial flowers over the past three summers. Today, I unexpectedly found myself chatting with my plants just like I would with my cat. I've talked to myself about them before, but this was the first time I genuinely felt like I was having a conversation with them. Am I strange for doing this? Is this something other people experience?

Completely normal! We humans have a tendency to talk to inanimate objects, whether it’s plants or our keys. It comes from our social nature. I have a ton of houseplants, and my cat even ‘talks’ to them, especially before chowing down on his own greens! It's just part of being human.
You're definitely not weird! In fact, talking to your plants can actually help them grow. I play music for mine too! It creates a nice vibe for both of us during garden time.
It's totally normal! There's even research that suggests talking to plants is beneficial, similar to how certain types of music can promote their growth. So go ahead and chat away!
