I think I might have found some mold peeking out from under the caulk around my shower. A handyman did the caulking about a year ago, and now I'm planning to tackle this DIY style. I already have the same caulk he used, but do I really need to recaulk the entire shower if just a small area has mold?

It could definitely be mold or mildew! Bathrooms are super prone to mold growth, especially in moist areas. I suggest giving it a good clean first, and if you're using mold-resistant caulk, make sure to remove the old caulk first since new silicone won't stick to the old stuff. Just redoing the affected area might not be enough, but a thorough cleaning will help.

Do I need to recaulk the areas that don't show mold?
