Is the 18V battery still available on the market?

I've got a drill driver and impact tools that work with 18V batteries, plus a charger too. However, it looks like most stores are now focusing on 12V, 20V, and Flex batteries. Has anyone spotted 18V batteries in stores recently?

It's a bit confusing for buyers in different regions! In the UK, the XR line is marked as 18V, which makes things tricky when comparing with the US models. Here, only the 20V Max tools get the XR label, while the old 18V tools were labeled XRP.

Unfortunately, it seems like the 18V line was discontinued around 2022 or 2023. The older 18V NiCad batteries aren’t really that great—they're bulky and only hold 2AH. Even the Li-Ion versions are 2AH and pretty big. If you've got multiple tools and lights using the old system, your best options are probably to upgrade to a 20V or look into getting a DeWalt adapter for compatibility.
