Hey everyone! I'm looking to replace my old heavy hammer drill with something more compact. I was initially leaning towards the Atomic series since I love my DCD850. Then I stumbled upon the DCD801, which is slightly larger than the 800 but seems to offer better performance. My main question is: for those of you who own the DCD801 or DCD806, are you satisfied with the anti-wrist and anti-chin breaker tech? Does it limit the tool's performance, or is it beneficial? How do you find it in real-world situations? Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Honestly, I found the Milwaukee 4th gen to be better after borrowing the DCD801 from a friend. The clutches on DeWalt tools seem pretty ineffective compared to FLEX and Ryobi, especially if you’re doing a lot of screwing. I find the anti-kickback feature more useful on my DCD1007 since it's more robust; the DCD801 is just overly sensitive and can be tricky without an extra handle.
I should mention that while the DCD801/806 has slightly less power because of the anti-kickback feature compared to the 800/805, I personally don’t think power is everything. If I’m buying a compact drill, I want something lightweight and easy to maneuver in tight spots, which this is perfect for. Just be cautious to avoid wrist injuries since it helps prevent that.
I totally relate! That’s why I still keep my 12V hammer drill and impact driver around.

That's a fair point! I’ll definitely give it a try myself. Just ordered the DCD801!
