I've been loyal to Makita tools since 2005, but because they don't have a replacement 18V hammer drill with anti-rotation, I recently bought the DCD1007WW1 kit which comes with a fast charger and an extra 8Ahr battery. Now, I'm diving into the DeWalt 20V tool lineup and found the DCE512P1 Fan Kit at Lowe's for $149. I'm wondering if that's a good deal because it seems to be from around 2021, and I'm not sure how it stacks up against current models.

I bought the same drill mainly for its anti-rotation feature. I’ve had a 12V brushless tool that jerked my wrist pretty hard, so I can only imagine what a 20V would feel like! Keep an eye on deals on sites like Slickdeals or Woot, as DeWalt tools often go on sale.
Honestly, the price is decent, but it’s not the best you can get. Just okay, really, considering it’s not a brand-new model. DeWalt products often go on sale, so you might want to wait for a better deal!
Thanks for all the helpful comments! I think I'm going to pass on this one for now.
The fan usually goes for about $99 on sale, so $149 isn’t too terrible but not mind-blowing either. Just make sure you’re comfortable with the battery size and what you really need.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll check those sites out for better deals.
