Hey everyone! I'm considering getting the Dewalt 3-speed heavy duty drill with a side handle. I'm curious if it's really worth it given its size for general drilling tasks. How does it compare to the Dewalt premium compact drill, especially the 90Nm one? I typically drill up to 13mm with my Milwaukee gold impact drills and use paddle bits for larger holes, but I rarely use hole saws. I admit that sometimes I get lazy and don't grab my impact driver when I need to screw down things, and I don't always take all my tools out of my truck. Any thoughts?

If you don't drill all the time, the Dewalt DCD1007 might be a solid pick for you. It has enough power for the occasional user and is pretty handy. But if you're planning to drill daily, you might want to go for a lighter, more compact drill alongside the heavy duty one. That way, you can easily switch between them depending on the task at hand.
The 3-speed heavy duty drill is great if you need versatility. It can handle tougher tasks when you need the extra power, but for day-to-day stuff, a smaller drill might make your life easier. I have both the DCD805N and DCD709P1 and I use them pretty much every day. They serve different needs really well!
Yeah, combining a compact with a heavier one allows you to tackle a wider range of projects, depending on what you need at the moment!

Totally agree! A compact drill is fantastic for longer projects. The weight difference can be a game changer!
