Is the Dewalt 972 Weed Eater a Good Buy?

I'm looking to buy a weed eater, and I'm considering the Dewalt 972 model. They have a deal where if I purchase it with a 3Ah battery, I can also get a 9Ah battery for free, making the total price $329. Is this a good deal? Should I wait for a better offer, or do you recommend a different model instead?

Just started using mine and wow, it's a beast! A bit overkill for my 0.25 acre yard, but it handled everything. The battery lasted through a tough cleanup. Just a heads-up, it's heavier than what I was used to, so be prepared for some arm fatigue!

Definitely go for the 972! It's a solid choice, especially with the two DCB609 batteries included. Plus, it's compatible with various attachments. I personally suggest getting the edger attachment as well—it's a nice addition!

Totally agree! I got the same deal last weekend, just waiting for some decent weather to use it.

Switched to the 972 from a 20V model and it’s a major upgrade. The power is fantastic, and the .095" string really cuts through obstacles. I even got the edger too—it's been performing well for me, way easier than my old gas model.
