Hey everyone! I'm in the market for a reliable miter saw and stand and I came across the Dewalt DWS779 model at Home Depot for $469. I'm not necessarily looking for the absolute best, but something dependable and user-friendly. I did some research, and it seems to have solid reviews regarding its reliability and power. Do you think this is a good deal? Also, are there any better miter saw options that come with a stand for under $500? Thanks!

The Dewalt 12-inch miter saws are built really well! I've used one for years, and it was pretty accurate and reliable. Just a heads up, while the stock blade is good for initial tasks, you might want to invest in a higher-quality finish blade eventually, since 12-inch blades can get pricey.
Thanks! Quick question: can a 10-inch saw handle a 4x4? That's a big reason I'm considering the 12-inch.

Totally agree! The difference in cut quality was huge when I switched to a Forrest Chopmaster—night and day.
