I'm considering purchasing a used DW716 double bevel 12-inch miter saw for $180. I mainly need it for DIY projects around the house and while I don't think I need a sliding miter saw, I'm wondering if this one is worth it based on its condition and price. Any thoughts?

If you have the budget for a sliding saw, go for it! They offer a lot more flexibility and can handle bigger projects down the line. Totally worth the investment if you're serious about your DIY work!
I don't really have advice, but I’d like to share my own experience with buying used tools. I once bought a cordless DeWalt jigsaw that seemed fine but turned out it only worked if I held the battery tight. Always check that it runs well before buying!
Honestly, I'd recommend getting a sliding miter saw if you can swing it. I didn’t invest in one and I really regret it—it's super handy for more versatile cuts. Just think about future projects you might tackle!

Wow, that sounds frustrating! At least it could be a simple fix like a loose connection. Glad you shared that experience!
