Is the EG4 LifePower4 V2 Battery Really Between 3U and 4U Height?

Hey everyone,

I'm checking out the EG4 LifePower4 V2 server rack battery and noticed that it measures 6.06 inches (154mm) in height. That seems to be right in the middle of 3U and 4U! Has anyone else noticed this odd sizing? Also, if you've used it in a non-EG4 rack, did you run into any issues?

Thanks for your input!

Having some airspace isn’t a bad thing, especially for airflow and cooling purposes. Just make sure it can mount properly.

Totally agree! But if it's marketed as a server rack battery, I think they should have followed the standard dimensions. That way, users wouldn’t have to adjust the mounting position.

Yeah, it's a bit strange! They probably called it a server rack battery just because it looks like a server case. It's odd that they didn't make it conform to the standard rack unit sizes, though.

I guess so! At least the width aligns with the standard, so you can still fit it in a rack. Just expect a little gap since it doesn’t fully hit either 3U or 4U.
