Hey everyone! I'm looking to jump into the M12 lineup and saw that HD has the driver/drill set which includes a ratchet. I'm wondering if that's a good set to get started with. I don't mind splurging a bit for the higher-end version. Coming from a bit of confusion with the Dewalt model numbers, I just wanted some confirmation before I go ahead. Any thoughts?

Yeah, this kit is great! While the drill isn't meant for heavy-duty big drilling, it's perfect for around the house. The impact tool packs quite a punch for its compact size. If you can grab some high-output batteries, you'll see a massive boost in performance—I've practically abandoned my M18 because of it! And if you're looking for versatility, consider the oscillating multi-tool instead of the ratchet. Stick to fuel tools in the M12 line, and you won't be disappointed!
This set is definitely solid for starting out! If you're not attached to the ratchet, you can return it and get the set for under $200, which is a win. It's really reliable for home projects and will serve you well.

I've tackled some serious projects with my M12 hammer drill too. Those 5.0HO batteries really make a difference; using smaller batteries just doesn't give the same power.
