I'm looking to clear out a few stumps from my yard and I'm considering whether my M12 Fuel Hackzall would be sufficient for the job. I know it can handle the right blades, but I'm debating if I should upgrade to an M18 Sawzall instead. Can the M12 tackle this task?

Honestly, if you’re working with a larger stump, like a sequoia or something massive, the Hackzall might struggle. It’s best suited for smaller jobs.
I’m currently using an M18 Hackzall for stump removal, and honestly, it’s a game-changer. Even the non-fuel version was manageable with a better battery. If you want to go with the M12, you might finish slower, but it's definitely lighter to handle. Just a tip, I love using Diablo's pruning blades for this kind of work!
Yeah, those 9" blades are fantastic! Just be careful, they can cut through a lot really fast. Safety first!
If your stumps are only a few inches in diameter, the M12 Hackzall should be good enough for that. Just make sure you have the right blades and you should be fine!

Totally agree, it really depends on the size of the stump. If it’s too big, you might want to consider a more powerful tool.
