Is the M12 Laser Worth the $400?

I recently came across the M12 laser level on Home Depot's website for $400, and it comes with a 2.0 M12 battery. I'm a bit hesitant to spend that much on a budget laser level, but I'm a tile installer and use laser levels frequently. One of my main concerns has always been the battery life of laser levels, which tends to drain quickly. Since I already have a bunch of M12 batteries, that concern would be less of an issue for me. Given that it's the most basic laser they offer, what are the pros and cons?

If you're trying to save some cash, I'd say look into a Huepar instead. I've heard they have some nice features for a lower price. But hey, I get the appeal of sticking with Milwaukee, especially if you've got a bunch of M12 batteries already!

Yeah, I totally hear you! It’s a big plus for me not having to worry about batteries dying since I've got so many M12s.

In my experience, Milwaukee lasers are way better than both Bosch and DeWalt. The only one that might compete with it is Hilti, but that one is really pricey.

I absolutely love my M12! I swapped the battery for a 5.0 HO, and it lasts me about two weeks on daily use before needing a charge. The green laser is super visible, which is great. Just a heads up though, it's pretty heavy for a laser, and I wouldn't trust those magnets unless it’s on solid metal.
