Is the M12 XC3.0 Battery Sufficient for My M12 Impact Wrench or Should I Upgrade to the HO5.0?

I just got the M12 1/2" impact wrench during a BOGO sale at Home Depot for some DIY automotive work. I'm a bit worried now about whether I should stick with the XC3.0 battery or switch it out for the HO5.0 before even opening the package. I've heard a lot about the HO5.0 being the better option, and it's making me second-guess the XC3.0. What do you think?

The 5.0 is definitely superior. The XC3.0 just doesn’t have the same quality cells, so if you're planning on doing a lot of auto work, it might be better to upgrade now.

I get why you’d be second-guessing. I’ve used the HO5.0 with my installation driver, and it powered through cabinet removal like a breeze. If you’re doing heavy work, that extra power is worth it!

Totally agree! The HO5.0 really packs a punch, and you can feel the difference when working on tougher projects.

Honestly, if you have the option, go for the 5.0. It has more power and lasts longer for bigger jobs. I dropped mine once, and it didn’t survive, but that battery did really well before that!

Oof, sorry about your battery! But yeah, the 5.0 really does make a noticeable difference in performance.
