Hey everyone! I'm considering buying the Milwaukee M12 laser level to assist with fencing installations. I'm curious if anyone here has used it for outdoor work and how it performed, especially in terms of visibility in daylight. Here's the product link: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-12-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Green-250-ft-3-Plane-Laser-Level-Kit-with-One-4-0-Ah-Battery-Charger-and-Case-3632-21/313643190. Any advice would be appreciated!

Just a note, lasers in the US aren’t allowed to be super bright due to regulations, so if you’re planning on using it in direct sunlight, you might be disappointed with visibility.
I’ve used that laser for outdoor projects like handrails, but honestly, it’s not bright enough to see well in daylight. If you get a laser detector, it might help depending on your needs, but it’s still a struggle when the sun’s out. Just a heads up!
Totally agree! I’ve used it indoors sometimes, and even then, visibility can be tricky. Outdoors during the day? You might as well just use string instead.
I did manage to get it to work for fencing, but the trick was to do it at dusk. I painted the lines and came back the next morning to dig the post holes. For solid visibility, timing is key!

I think it varies. My other laser levels have a ‘detector’ mode, which helps, but I’m not sure about this model since I haven’t tested it with a detector myself.
