Is the Milwaukee M18 Mower Worth the Investment?

Hey everyone, my old Ryobi mower is on its last legs, and I've been transitioning all my tools to the M18 lineup. I'm curious if the Milwaukee M18 mower is worth considering. Does anyone have tips on finding the best deals for it?

I'm loving my M18 mower! I've been using it for over a year, and it's held up really well—even with frequent use, no issues. The only thing I wish it had is the dual-blade system like the EGO models for better efficiency. But the high-speed button is a lifesaver for tougher grass. If you can find it on sale, it's a great deal!

I've seen several reports about issues with the M18 mower's motor detaching from the deck. It seems to be more common than just user error, so it might be worth waiting until they release a newer model that fixes these problems. But the latest versions may have already been improved, so keep an eye out for updates in reviews.

I'd be cautious with this mower. My experience has been somewhat disappointing considering its price point. The quality isn't as high as I'd hoped—plastic parts don't fit well, which makes it harder to clean, and I get uneven cuts even after sharpening the blade. While it feels sturdy and has some useful features like lights, I expected more for over $1000. Just make sure you're really after an M18 if you're already in that ecosystem; otherwise, you might find better value elsewhere, like with EGO mowers.

Totally get your frustration. I think if someone has a smaller yard, it might work better for them, but if you're dealing with thicker grass or larger areas, it might struggle a bit.

Appreciate the honesty! If I go with the M18, I'll be sure to do regular maintenance like you mentioned.

For me, it comes down to a few key things. First, it does its job without any major complaints. Second, if you're already committed to the M18 line, it makes sense to stick with it for battery compatibility. But if you're strictly looking for value, gas mowers might give you better performance for the price. Just think about what fits your yard size and mowing routine!
