Is the Shop-Vac DXV12P-QT a Fire Hazard?

I'm eyeing the DXV12P-QT Shop-Vac on sale at Lowes, but I've come across some worrying reviews about it causing fires in the outlet. They mention issues with the plug and even some melted plugs or smoke. Has anyone heard of these problems, or is it just a few bad reviews?

It's more likely that the issue is with the outlet rather than the device itself. If you keep using dirty plugs or have a faulty outlet, that could definitely be the source of the problem. Just be cautious and check your wiring!

I've plugged my vacuum into some pretty sketchy wiring and never had an issue with it. It seems to work just fine!

I noticed that a lot of the complaints look quite similar, almost like they're written by the same person. Some mention issues with the grounded plug, while others say it caused smoke or melting. I don’t own one myself, but those similarities are a bit strange.

That is interesting! Maybe it's just a few isolated cases, but it's always good to be cautious with electrical products.
