I'm looking to swap out my current single sink, which is 60cm (24") wide, for a double sink setup. However, I'm concerned that a double sink could just be more of a hassle if it's too small. The max dimensions for my space allow for a sink with one basin at 34cm (14") and the other at 18cm (7") wide. While I do enjoy my parents' double sink setup, both of their sinks are 34cm wide, allowing for more flexibility in usage. Having used a 40cm (16") single sink comfortably so far, I don't have too many large pots or pans to wash, so I'm unsure if a 34cm (14") sink is truly too tiny. Any experiences with small double sinks from others would be really helpful!

I just can't see the value in a double sink that small. Every double sink I've encountered has eventually been replaced with a single basin, as most people I know find them annoying. If you can live with a single for your needs, it might be worth skipping the double altogether.
Honestly, I think it really depends on your cooking style. For me, a double sink that's 34cm each would be frustrating because I often use larger pots and pans. If you're okay with the size based on what you usually wash, it might work, but I'd suggest you really check if your biggest items fit without a struggle. Otherwise, a larger single sink could be the way to go.
