Is There a Top-Notch Modern Manufacturer for Bit Braces?

I'm looking for a premium bit brace that can handle larger auger bits for mortising. I know brands like Lee Valley, Lie-Nielsen, and Clifton make great hand planes, and for chisels, I've seen options like LN, Blue Spruce, and Ashley Isles. Is there an equivalent for bit braces? I'd rather not dive into restoring a vintage piece—are there any modern options that are worth the investment?

It seems like a tough search! Unfortunately, there’s really no brand making premium bit braces right now. The main issue is the bits themselves; modern ones have different shanks and won't fit the traditional braces designed for square tangs. The last company I heard that made hand braces was a French one, but they’re out of the game now.

I remember Stanley's braces had both alligator jaws for tapered tangs and universal jaws that accepted both. The universal ones had a white stripe, while the alligator ones were yellow.
