I've got a cherry tree in my yard that's dying, and I'm planning to cut it down. I'm curious if there's any way to use the wood from it. Do you think it's too costly or impractical to mill it into something useful? I'm pretty new to this whole process and not looking to make anything overly fancy, just wondering what my options are.

If you've got a fire pit, that cherry wood would be perfect for it! Cherry is great for smoking meat, too, so if you know someone with a smoker or grill, they might want it. Plus, it's always nice to have good firewood on hand for summer nights!
It really depends on how big the tree is. If it's sizable enough, you might consider milling it, but it can be a hassle to do that yourself. You could also think about reaching out to local sawmills; they often buy wood if it's good quality. If it seems too much, just using it for your own projects or firewood might be the way to go.

Totally agree! Cherry wood gives such a nice flavor to BBQ. Perfect for those summer cookouts!
