I made a newbie mistake with my stephania erecta bulb. It was dormant for months but started growing this spring, developing several shoots and even tiny flowers. Unfortunately, they turned yellow, and I learned that could be a sign of overwatering, even though the plant didn't have any leaves yet. Following some advice, I cut back the yellowing parts, not realizing those were its flowers!
Now, all that's left are three little green stumps. I've let the caudex dry out and just gave it some water today, placing it near a grow lamp. It has a slower-growing companion plant that seems to encourage it, so I'm keeping them together. Do you think there's still any chance for my stephania this season?

It's great that you're monitoring your plants closely! Since you’re using a cactus mix with extra perlite, it should drain well, but maybe back off on the watering a bit more. If those stumps are sturdy, there's definitely a chance for a comeback! Just ensure it gets good indirect light, and with some careful attention, you might see it sprout anew soon!
First off, don’t be too hard on yourself! It sounds like you’re already taking some good steps to help your stephania recover. Watering every 4-5 days might be a bit much, especially if you're misting too. Just give it some time—and keep an eye on the moisture in the potting mix. Also, don’t stress about the yellow flowers; the plant can bounce back. Just keep it by that grow lamp and give it some TLC! Also, be sure it’s not getting too much direct sunlight either.

Yeah, I agree! Just let it adjust and be patient. Plants can be surprisingly resilient. Good idea to keep it with the other plant—it might help! Just remember, less is more sometimes.
