I came across this ericaceous compost online that seems to be the lowest priced option out there. I'm planning to build a raised bed specifically for blueberries, but I'm a bit wary since I can't find any reviews about this product. Has anyone had experience with it? Why not swing by a local garden center? They often have clearance sections with last year's stock at discounted prices. I snagged mine for about 50% off!
Aldi and Lidl sometimes have really affordable compost, usually cheaper than those garden centers, but it can be hit or miss if they have it in stock when you need it.
I haven't tried this specific compost, but I noticed a couple of things. First, 'irish' is often a code word for 'peat', which could be good or bad depending on your stance on peat usage. Also, watch out for shipping costs—just one bag adds about £5, while ten bags ramps it up to £70. It turns out to be around £80 per ton without shipping, but if you need a lot, the total can skyrocket to about £250 if you're planning on buying a full pallet.
With the shipping included, I found some cheaper alternatives online that might be worth checking out.
