I recently bought a Milwaukee M18 Fuel hammer drill (model 2904-20) and absolutely love it! However, after doing some DIY dyeing with Rit dye, I've noticed that there's a clunking sound and a rattling sensation when I release the trigger at speed 2. This happens regardless of whether there's a bit attached or not, and it seems like there's a lot of movement inside as the drill slows down or stops. I'm pretty sure it didn't make this noise before, but I could be mistaken. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Also, I discovered a piece of copper wire was cut in the motor's control connections during my inspection; I tried twisting it back together. Am I doing it right?

That clunking and rattling sound isn’t normal at all. It could be an issue with a bearing being out of place. I wouldn’t keep using it, as you might end up damaging something further.
Not sure about the warranty, but dying it might complicate things. While the results look great, that noise and feel definitely don’t seem worth the aesthetic change. Just my two cents!
