Hey folks, I recently experienced a water leak in my bedroom, and the drywall repair is in progress. I'm no expert, but I can't help but feel like the way they're installing the drywall looks super messy. There are obvious seams with gaps, some edges are damaged, and the alignment isn't even close to right. The workers are reassuring me that this is just how it is, but I'm really skeptical. I've shared some photos for reference [here](https://imgur.com/a/Wgm4pBT). Any advice or opinions on whether this looks acceptable would be really helpful. Thanks a lot!

We need to wait and see what it looks like after taping and mudding. The installation might look bad now, but they can usually fix it in the finish. If they know what they’re doing, you might be surprised. Looks like they still have a lot to tackle!
Honestly, it's a bit of a mixed bag. I get what you mean about the installation looking sloppy, but sometimes you can't really judge drywall until it's all taped and mudded. That said, that job does seem particularly rough for a 'mid-job' look. I'd suggest just keeping an eye on the finishing process; it might improve a lot depending on their skills.
Right? I've seen worse too. But if they don't finish it well, it'll be a hassle for everyone down the line.
I’ve dealt with worse drywall patches too, and in the end, a good mud job can really cover a lot. They seem to have some alignment issues, but sometimes a quick fix with mud can hide a shoddy hang. Make sure to follow up with photos when they’re done!
Check your contract to see what finish level you agreed on. It’s key to know what to expect at the end of this project. For now, while it doesn’t look perfect, they're likely to fix those gaps with mud and tape before it’s all sanded and painted. Keep us posted with updates after they're done!

Yeah, that’s a good point! Let’s hope they pull it off with the next steps.
