We recently hired a company to handle a series of exterior projects including siding, trim, gutters, windows, and doors. They just finished the first part — the siding and trim — and honestly, it looks really bad. My husband called them because they want us to sign off on the completion, but we won't do that until the issues are fixed. We even sent them photos, but they were defensive and tried to gaslight my husband during the call. They have someone coming tomorrow to check it out, but they've hinted that they think it looks fine. We're feeling overwhelmed and want to make sure we're not losing it. What can we say or do in our meeting tomorrow, especially considering this is a $50k+ project?

Those photos you shared look like what you'd expect from before repairs—not after! Definitely don’t sign anything until it's corrected. That’s a huge investment, and you deserve quality work.
This is concerning! Are they a licensed contractor? If they're not, you may have more options to pursue further action. Definitely get clarity on their license status before the meeting.
They stated that their installers are trained and meet legal standards, so we thought they were licensed. But now we’re not so sure.
