Is This Solar Panel Quote a Good Deal?

Hey everyone! I'm considering a solar panel quote I received from Sunrun. They offer $145 a month, which includes a Tesla Powerwall. I wanted to get your thoughts on whether this is a good deal or if I'm potentially missing something. Any advice would be appreciated!

I'm with you on not signing a 25-year lease. Think about how this affects your home's resale value as well. Many buyers steer clear of homes with solar leases. Plus, with the costs associated with leasing, you might end up paying more compared to just buying the system outright and benefiting from tax credits. Long term, it can save you a lot more money!

Interesting! If I were to buy a system, how would I go about making sure I get a fair quote?

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend leasing solar panels. If you're going to invest in solar, it's better to buy them outright. Leasing can lead to long-term commitments that may not be worth it, especially with the increasing costs over time. It usually complicates things when you try to sell your home too, since many won't buy a house with an outstanding lease.

That's a solid point. This whole industry feels super confusing, and I want to avoid being ripped off. What would be the best approach to actually purchasing solar? Any tips?

I got my solar panels installed outright and my bill is down to about $25/month from around $160! It really pays off in the long run, especially if you can find a reputable provider. Just do your research and get quotes to compare.

That sounds great! How did you find the right installer? Any tips on comparing quotes?
