Hey everyone, I recently had my home insulated, and after the shingles were replaced, I noticed some concerning signs on the outside of my house. I really hope this isn't termite damage! Can someone take a look at this picture I posted and let me know what you think? Here's the link: https://imgur.com/a/1D1ybNO

If it's an active infestation, you'd likely spot a mud tunnel leading up from the ground to the wood. They prefer to stay in the dark and often make hidden tunnels.
Honestly, it probably starts with a T and ends with 'termites'. Better to get a pro to take a look before it gets worse!
I'd recommend calling termite companies. They usually offer free estimates and will drill into the exterior wood to assess any damage, but beware that costs can rise if they discover more issues while they're at it.
Definitely looks like termites to me. Better safe than sorry, call in the experts!
So, I wouldn't freak out just yet! It might not be active. Could there be a chance that this is an old termite tunnel? I bought my place last July and haven't seen any live bugs or tunnels since then. What do you think?
Termites typically wouldn’t show their tunnels in plain sight. That’s a bit odd.
For peace of mind, just get a professional to inspect it all.
Biting the bullet here... it looks like a termite tunnel. I’d recommend checking out some DIY remediation options as well.
It’s possible that what you're seeing could be from carpenter ants, but either way, it's definitely time to call pest control just to be safe!

I found some similar tunnels in my last house. They seemed abandoned after I scraped them out, so I just let it go after calling it a day.
