Hey everyone, I wanted to get your thoughts on a stud in my finished basement that looks a bit beat up. I'm pretty sure it's not load bearing and is just there to support the wall, but I wanted to double-check with you all. Here's a link to the photo: https://imgur.com/a/IKYIJzy. What do you think?

From what I can see, it doesn't look like a load-bearing stud. Plus, it seems to have a spacer on it, which usually indicates it’s just for wall support. So yeah, you should be good!
That spacer is likely a top plate for that wall's framing. I'm with you, it's not load bearing!
